Vanavond mocht ik op het CIVITAS 2019 Forum in het Oostenrijkse Graz de Citizen & Stakeholder Engagement Award in ontvangst nemen. Antwerpen kreeg die prijs voor Slim naar Antwerpen, waarover de jury het volgende te vertellen had: ‘Through their Smart Ways to Antwerp brand, they are raising awareness, supporting the development of innovative #mobility solutions, and driving real behavioural change.’

Dear people present, dear members of the jury,
First of all I’d like to express my gratitude. I feel honoured to be standing here, but also humble at the same time.
A lot of other people should be standing here beside me.
Smart Ways to Antwerp is the fruit of countless meetings, brainstorms, exchanges of ideas, discussions, … with tens and tens of people for the past 4 years.
Receiving an award is always a pleasure.
Receiving an award from professionals such as the CIVITAS jury is quite an honour.
But most of all: receiving an award for a project which is trying to improve the lives of our citizens is worth even more.
What a privilege indeed to work on this.
Working on Smart Ways to Antwerp forces us to think ahead, to come up with new ideas, to be receptive to innovation and novelties.
Smart Ways to Antwerp makes all of us smarter.
My appreciation goes out to the members of the jury for honouring us with this award, and special thanks to Marijke and her team for making this a success.
